OE Replacement Alternator for 1996-2002 JDM Honda S-MX Fits both 2WD and 4WD. This is a NEW UNIT, not a remanufactured used one. No core charge.

This one has a SQUARE PLUG, please compare your OE unit plug to see if it's round or square, there are 2 types (Square or perfect round circle). *please see image below for rear harness plug connection

If you suspect your S-MX alternator isn't working, you may have flickering lights, dim headlights, strain on the engine when you run electronics (fan, ac, heater, radio, lights). You can easily test the output in your driveway with a standard volt meter - A working alternator should put out anywhere from 14-14.5 volts at idle speed. Usually once a S-MX alternator is operating below 12 volts you will begin to have issues starting the vehicle, charging the battery, etc.
