1996-2002 JDM RH1/2 HONDA S-MX Ignition Distributor

This is an OE Replacement Ignition Distributor for the Japan-Spec 1996-2002 HONDA S-MX

Please check your distributor connector, this is a single 10-pin style connector as shown. (Some other models use a 2-connector type distributor..)

If you engine is struggling to maintain a good spark, or failed starting, this is a good item to inspect. The distributor contains both a CPS / Cam Position Sensor, as well as a CKP / Crankshaft Position Sensor, and the Ignition Module. All 3 components must be in working order for the engine to operate. Any failure of either component will result in an engine not operating correctly, or at all. The easiest way to check for spark is to pull out 1 spark plug tube (spark plug boot side) and hold the end near a grounding bolt on the chassis - have someone crank the engine and see if you can spot a small spark jumping out of the wire - No spark is a sure sign you have ignition problems.
